I am waiting…

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Sorry, forgot to update the blog, that I am back in Sg. Not gonna fly anytime soon, perhaps a short holiday end of this month and to Dubai mid of next.

Recently, there are too many things happening, especially at work. Making one feel de-motivated, as low as you can be.

Ok, let’s talk about what excites me. Just browsed through Bookcraves’ website and suddenly thought of searching for Sophie Kinsella’s latest book. Well, came upon the website to be nearer to her… hehe… her official website at http://www.randomhouse.com/bantamdell/kinsella/

I am waiting for her new book… nowhere in sight… :-(

Chinese anyone?

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

Another day has gone. Yesterday received news that I may have to stay in Wuxi till end of the month. But I do not feel the ummph to stay so long. I am running out of “battery”.

Another day of eating lunch off the plate using chopstick, another day torturing myself speaking understandable Chinese to the Chinese together with lots of sign language just to make sure they really understand what I am struggling to say. Why do I find it easier speaking Japanese-English than Chinese-English ah? I am quite tired asking the waitress or waiter whomever it was to read the menu out for the meals we have outside. But the food here is incredibly cheap.

One thing I am grateful for, is, who says Chinese don’t drink coffee? Of coz, the coffee they serve in the hotel is as thin as 0.5mm…. but then, I get to drink some instant ones in the office. Phew…. How do I live without coffee…..

It rained a while, and the weather is good now. Have been grateful (another thing I am grateful for) that I am not in Sg, in the midst of the haze, created by just some inconsiderate people and yet do not make much effort to stop torturing everybody.

Just saw some of Fiona’s wedding pics in the album created by Wendy. Good effort there.

Great Flight Experience

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

We went to watch World Trade Centre on Sunday. Well, what can I say, to watch the 18th and 19th survivors’ story re-lived. My heart goes all out to the families of all that have gone to the better world, and also to the families of the survivors. It is not easy to live through those moments, moments of loss and grievances.

I took China Eastern for the first time to Wuxi yesterday. Surprisingly, perhaps I was too well prepared for the worst, that I found it a comfortable experience. It has been a few times since I sat alone in the plane, and it felt so comfortable to lean over the other seat to read. Well, last night, I told him about my flight experience. “Not too bad, except for the far-too-few-toilet-far-too-many-people experience, except for the far-too-few-toilet-that-one-broke-down, except that the toilet that broke down was the one nearest to my seat, except for the smile-sweetly-at-you-but-withdraw-their-smile-as-soon-as-you-turned-away stewardess and the VIP-walking-out-of-the-plane-on-the-manual-stairs-that-they-sent-to-the-plane-doorstep kind of act, with strong wind blowing on your face, messing your already messed up hair and hopped onto the transit bus to bring you to the airport”. Huh, what an experience ya, to think that I thought M’sia airline was bad when they started off their safety pre-caution “manual video” (literally human demonstration) when I flew back to Sg from KL.

Well, I was prepared for the non-tv experience though. That was why I brought along Cathy Kelly’s book (Never Too Late). Read more than half of it on the plane, just hope that I do not have enough time to finish it here before going back to Sg on China Eastern again, just in case you wonder, coz then I’ll have nothing to do on the plane!

The weather is good here (highest 29, lowest 17). It’s like Genting now. Why I say NOW, because I personally think Genting is getting warmer and warmer. Too bad, one can wear short pants there even at night. Of course, not on rainy nights. :-p Well, here, I enjoy the cool weather tomorrow forecast highest 25 lowest 17 which will be cooler.. hehehe.. , night time feel so comfortable walking outside. I eat regularly when I travel, which is good for my gastric, bad on my weighing scale. Hehe….
